Community Resilience: A Testament to Generosity and Leadership

In the face of adversity, true leadership shines through. This couldn’t be more evident than in the recent response to Hurricane Helene, which severely impacted parts of western North Carolina in late September 2024. The storm wreaked havoc across the Appalachian region, leading to over 100 reported deaths and causing significant destruction to infrastructure and residential areas in several settlements.

During such a challenging time, we at The Hose Company are proud to highlight the incredible efforts of our Extreme Distributor, River City Pressure Cleaning Equipment, whose generosity and commitment to community support made a significant difference in the aftermath of this tragedy. River City Pressure Cleaning Equipment is a Texas based company with a big heart for helping the community! They knew people would need reliable supplies and River City relied on us to ensure we got it in the hands of those who could use it the most!

When Hurricane Helene made it nearly impossible to get essential supplies to those in need, River City Pressure Cleaning Equipment stepped up to the plate. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, they answered the call for help by providing 12 brand new generators destined for the hardest-hit areas. This remarkable act of kindness showcases not only their commitment to service but also their deep-rooted sense of community responsibility.

At The Hose Company, we were honored to facilitate the logistics involved in getting these generators to our facility in Matthews, NC where we transported them to the next key player in the support efforts!

Skydive Carolina flew multiple trips up to areas like Banner Elk, and other extremely hard hit areas delivering essential supplies to communities grappling with the aftermath of the storm. Their commitment to serving those in need exemplifies the spirit of generosity that brings communities together during times of crisis.

Our VP, Pollyanna Cunningham, played a pivotal role in coordinating generators and supplies and she connected with Amelia Old, who ensured that the generators and supplies were delivered to Skydive Carolina for distribution and a key person in getting supplies to those that need it the most. Thanks to their efforts, many in the hardest-hit areas received the assistance they desperately needed!

The impact of these collaborative efforts cannot be overstated. Each person involved—whether through donations, logistics, or delivery—has contributed to a wave of hope and support in a time of tribulation. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when individuals and organizations come together for a common cause.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed, especially to River City Pressure Cleaning Equipment, Skydive Carolina, Amelia Old, and everyone involved in making this happen. Their humility and selflessness have created a lasting impact, reaching far beyond the immediate needs of the community. Together, we’re not just responding to a disaster; we’re building a resilient community that looks out for one another.

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey of support and solidarity. Let’s continue to uplift each other and foster the spirit of giving, not just in times of crisis, but every day.

Together, we can make a difference.
